What Color is Your Parachute?

Well, when I stop and ask myself "what color is my parachute," I think...hmmm, what a fantastic book by Richard Bolles. What Color is Your Parachute?

This is what I found while going through this book:

1. Where (Geography-wise):
-close to family/friends
-privacy, but close enough to town that I do not need to drive more than 15 (+?) minutes
-Minnesota (preferably)…or Montana (beauty, some family)
-water (lakes, rivers, etc.)
-experience all seasons (sunny)

2. In organizations using these Special Knowledges:
-marketing/advertising to best meet consumer needs
-people skills (and networking/coaching)
-photography

3. In organizations having these People-Environments:
-enterprising (persuading, performing, managing, leading)
-investigative (investigating, analyzing, problem solving)
-social (teach, enlighten, develop people)

4. Serving these Goals/Purposes/Values:
-integrity
-quality relationships
-excellence
-wisdom
-leadership
-helping other people

5. With these Working Conditions:
-clear and consistent expectations
-managers/co-workers having an overall positive attitude
-encouragement for a job well done/helpful feedback
-managers/co-workers making an effort to change things they are unhappy with

6. At this Level of Responsibility and Salary:
-I enjoy managing a team; I also enjoy being a part of a team that is under a manager, while taking a leadership role.
-review budget (pg.211-213)—for example, if $3000/mo. needed (3000*12=36000, 36000/2000=18), then $18/hr. needed (need to review with someone for accurate costs for insurance, loans, etc.).
-rewards hoped for: adventure, challenge, respect, influence, a chance to be creative, to help others, to exercise leadership, to make decisions, to bring others closer to God.

7. Using these Transferable Skills:
-driven
-thorough
-creative
-leadership
-strong communication skills

*Job Families I am interested in:
-executive, administrative, managerial occupation
-writers, artists, digital artists, entertainers
-marketing and sales occupations
